Frank Family Vineyards Dinner

The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge will feature a Frank Family Vineyards Dinner on Saturday, September 24. Reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Frank Family Wine Brand Ambassador Liza Gallia will guide us through a flavorful dinner paired perfectly with five wines from the Frank Family Vineyards portfolio. Angel’s Envy Tasting
Ray Tremblay, Whiskey Guardian & National Trainer and Jaime Keller, Region Market Manager Southeast
Ray Tremblay will lead this outstanding Whiskey Club tasting on Friday, October 28 at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature Angel’s Envy Port Finish awarded 98 points, the highest rating ever given to a bourbon by Wine Enthusiast. Called “dangerously drinkable” by Whiskey Advocate, it has also been recommended by Maxim Magazine and Men’s Journal, to name a few. We will also feature its Rum Cask Finish, which was given Four Stars and “highly recommended” by the Spirit Journal, and praised by Bourbon Blog, Drink Spirits, Whiskey Nose and many other industry publications. Angel’s Envy’s Rye finished in rum barrels is a distinctly delicious spirit that stands unique among whiskeys. Featuring flavorful food pairings created by The Ballantyne’s culinary team, this Whiskey Club event will be one of the highlights of 2016. Ballantyne Beer Garden, A Public Event at The Ballantyne

On Sunday, October 9, from noon until 6 p.m., enjoy an Oktoberfest-themed, pop-up Ballantyne Beer Garden on the South Lawn featuring live music, local beer, German food and a drawing for prizes. This event is open to the public and has no admission fee. Menu items will be available à la carte.

Each Friday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m. hotel guests can experience a Journey of Culture & Culinary Excellence presented by The Concierge featuring a guided tour of exclusive artwork and The Ballantyne history followed by a tasting of flavorful culinary samples. Sign up at the Concierge Desk.

 


Afternoon Tea

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Experience the magic of “Alice in Wonderland” at The Ballantyne’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from Wednesday, October 5, through Saturday, October 8, 1 – 5 p.m. The event will feature whimsical teapots and mismatched, colorful tablecloths with a family-style set-up. Psychic Tea

Psychic Tea is Wednesday, November 9 through Saturday, November 12, 1 – 5 p.m. This Romani-themed specialty tea will feature a fortune teller and the option to add a “Your Fortune” Cocktail for $10. Heather Gaffney-Darnell is a local intuitive tarot reader with 30 years of experience. She brings compassion and humor to her readings while providing insight and guidance to her clients. The cost is $40 for adults and $20 for children ages 5-12 (excluding tax & gratuity). Gingerbread Lane Professional, Amateur and Child Competition

The Gingerbread Lane competition offers three independent categories, including professional, amateur and child (ages 12 and under) for entry. The competition will feature enticing prizes for each category.The competition is free to participate. Entry forms must be received via email by Tuesday, November 29. Thanksgiving

Join The Ballantyne for a favorite tradition on November 24, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Enjoy a bountiful display of seasonal salads, decorative displays, carving stations with regional accompaniments and decadent desserts, as well as live entertainment. Cost is $75 per person, $35 for children, ages 5-13, and complimentary for children ages 4 and under (pricing does not include tax or 23% service charge). Private dining rooms are available for larger groups.

Gallery Restaurant will feature its regular menu and a traditional turkey dinner special 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Holiday Tea

Enjoy Holiday Tea in the lobby throughout December. Holiday Afternoon Tea includes a variety of seasonal loose leaf tea blends and a selection of savory tea sandwiches, traditional confectioneries and holiday treats as well as live entertainment with the option to add Champagne for $10. Tea is served Wednesday – Sunday, November 30 through December 31, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. (not available on Christmas Day). The cost is $49 for adults and $29 for junior patrons (plus tax & gratuity). Hot Chocolate, Cider & Toddies

Get cozy this holiday season at The Ballantyne from Friday, December 9 through Wednesday, December 28, 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Enjoy hot chocolate with the option to add liqueur along with a selection of garnishes, cider or spiced wine at the Veranda and Gallery Bar. The cost is $7 for hot chocolate and cider and $10 for alcoholic beverages.


Gingerbread House Decorating Class

On Saturday, December 10 and Saturday, December 17, 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., create a new family tradition by decorating a gingerbread house together. Executive Pastry Chef Ben Kallenbach and his team will offer some helpful tips at this family-friendly event. The cost is $50 per group (pricing is for up to four people and does not include tax or 23% service charge). Space is limited so make reservations early by calling 704-248-4100; advance payment is required.


Gingerbread Lane

Visit The Ballantyne to view an enchanting display of gingerbread creations from Thursday, December 8 through Wednesday, December 28. Gingerbread Lane is free to visit and open to the public, anytime throughout the dates offered. Attendees may vote on their favorite entries with $1 minimum donation per vote. All proceeds will benefit Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH), dedicated to caring for the physical and emotional needs of children and their families. Bissell, The Ballantyne’s parent company, has played an integral role in fundraising for LCH even before its inception.

Also, Santa Claus will make periodic visits to Gingerbread Lane throughout the holiday season.

The hotel will offer Christmas Brunch on December 25, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The elaborate buffet will include a variety of salads, an assortment of cheese and seafood displays, breakfast items, an omelet station, carving station and indigenous desserts. There will be live holiday music. Gallery Restaurant will be open for dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas, 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. The restaurant will feature its regular menu as well as offer a prime rib dinner special.

New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day

New Year’s Eve Dinner Package
Ring in 2017 in style with an overnight stay at The Ballantyne.
