Special Events Designed to Delight

The Ballantyne offers monthly tastings, teas and culinary events. For special holiday seasons, bountiful brunches and specialty events are open to all. Many events require advance reservations to guarantee their availability.

Journey of Culture & Culinary Excellence

Each Friday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m. hotel guests can experience a Journey of Culture & Culinary Excellence presented by The Concierge featuring a guided tour of exclusive artwork and The Ballantyne history followed by a tasting of flavorful culinary samples. Sign up at the Concierge Desk.

 


Afternoon Tea & Special Event Teas

Enjoy a selection of tea sandwiches and pastries accompanied by your choice of loose leaf tea in the main lobby. Tea is served Wednesday through Saturday, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. The cost is $36 for adults and $18 for junior patrons (excluding tax & gratuity).  Reservations are required: (704) 248-4100.

On February 10 – 13, the hotel will offer a magical Princess Tea. The ideal event for families to celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Princess Tea will feature a kid-friendly menu and décor fit for royalty. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their favorite princess gown, jewelry and tiara.

The Ballantyne will celebrate the final season of Downton Abbey Tea inspired by the critically acclaimed PBS series on March 2 – 5. The culinary team will present Countess of Grantham’s favorite tea savories and sweets and the option to add Spanish Sherry for $8. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1920 – 1930s period clothing.

Celebrate with family and friends over Easter Tea on March 23 – 26. Enjoy a special menu with the option to add a Yellow Bubbles Champagne Cocktail for $10.

Queen Elizabeth’s 90th Birthday Tea will be April 20 – 23. The culinary team has consulted with Buckingham Palace chefs to present Her Majesty’s favorites with the option to add a Champagne Royale for $8 or Pimm’s Cocktail (Queen Elizabeth’s beverage of choice) for $10.

Treat mom to Mother’s Day Tea during May 4 – 7. Enjoy a special menu of tea sandwiches and sweets with the option to add a Champagne Rosebud for $8 or Pink Lady Cocktail for $10.


Valentine’s Three-Course Menu at Gallery Restaurant

From Friday, February 12 through Sunday, February 14, enjoy an intimate dinner at Gallery Restaurant. The three-course prix fixe menu will feature a choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert for $75 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Enjoy wine pairings for an additional $25 per person.
