The Ballantyne offers monthly tastings, teas and culinary events. For special holiday seasons, bountiful brunches and specialty events are open to all. Many events require advance reservations to guarantee their availability.

The Whiskey Club of Ballantyne

The Whiskey Club of Ballantyne is a monthly tasting event, open to the public, designed to bring whiskey lovers together for socialization and education. Highlights include exclusive distillery portfolios, rare single malts, small batch bourbons, and acclaimed flagship whiskeys from regions around the world. Our Chefs work hard to create complementing light hors d’oeuvres paired with each whiskey sampled to enhance this outstanding tasting experience.

April 28 Become a Master Bourbon Blender with Woodford Reserve!
Enjoy a sampling of the outstanding Woodford Reserve Distillery led by Brown-Forman Whiskey Ambassador Cameron Brobst. In this Whiskey Club event we will taste the Woodford Reserve Rye, our Ballantyne Personal Selection Bourbon, and create our own custom “whiskey club bourbon” blend by demonstrating the Personal Selection process with single barrels chosen by Master Distiller, Chris Morris.


Afternoon Tea

Enjoy a variety of blends with traditional tea sandwiches and savories in the lobby weekly Wednesday – Saturday, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Cost is $40 per adult, $20 per child ages 5 – 12 plus tax & service charge and free for children ages 4 & under. Reservations are required at (704) 248-4100.


Weekend Brunch

Enjoy a delicious brunch menu available in Gallery Restaurant Saturday and Sundays, 7 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.


Celebrate North Carolina Beer Month in April

Enjoy an “NC Tap Takeover” with an array of North Carolina craft beer on tap at Gallery Bar and the Veranda throughout April for a special price of $4.50 each (normally $6).


Easter Brunch

Join The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge for a favorite holiday tradition with Easter Brunch on April 16, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Enjoy an endless array of fresh salads, decorative displays, seasonal entrées, breakfast items, carving station and desserts, as well as live entertainment, giveaway opportunities and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Portugal vs. The States Wine Tasting

Enjoy a delicious and informative tasting led by Certified Specialist of Wine Ryan Gilbert of Country Vintner and Sommelier Juan Fernandez in Gallery Restaurant’s Private Dining Room, Friday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. This tasting will be a side-by-side blind comparison of four different styles of wines from each country. Attendees will try and guess the correct country of origin for each wine while enjoying a series of Chef de Cuisine Matt Tilman’s tapas style small plates. Journey of Culture & Culinary Excellence

Each Friday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m. hotel guests can experience a Journey of Culture & Culinary Excellence presented by The Concierge featuring a guided tour of exclusive artwork and The Ballantyne history followed by a tasting of flavorful culinary samples. Sign up at the Concierge Desk.

Summertime Tea in the Carolinas

Wizard Tea Inspired by the J. K. Rowling Fantasy Book Series
