Special Events Designed to Delight

The Ballantyne offers monthly tastings, teas and culinary events. For special holiday seasons, bountiful brunches and specialty events are open to all. Many events require advance reservations to guarantee their availability.

Ballantyne Beer Garden, A Public Event at The Ballantyne

On Sunday, July 3 from noon until 7 p.m., enjoy a pop-up Ballantyne Beer Garden on the South Lawn featuring live music by Pluto for Planet and Wicked Powers, local beer from Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, The Dreamchaser’s Brewery and Sugar Creek Brewing Co., (beer pricing from $5), a cookout, corn hole and a drawing for prizes. This event is open to the public and has no admission fee. Menu items will be available à la carte. *Family-friendly event, casual attire and pets not permitted.


July Fourth Weekend

Hotel guests can relax by the outdoor pool and enjoy a cookout, drink specials and games July 1 – 4. Enjoy live music on Saturday and a dive-in movie Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 p.m. Join us for complimentary yoga Saturday at 8 a.m. and a fun run on Sunday at 8 a.m. and Ballantyne Beer Garden from noon until 7 p.m. featuring local beer, live music, a cookout and giveaways. Ask the concierge about fireworks viewing locations in the area and throughout the city. The Ballantyne will feature Summer Tea in the Carolinas Wednesday, July 20 through Saturday, July 23, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear straw hats and their summer best. Charlotte Restaurant Week July 22 – 31 Three Courses for $30

Journey of Culture & Culinary Excellence

Each Friday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m. hotel guests can experience a Journey of Culture & Culinary Excellence presented by The Concierge featuring a guided tour of exclusive artwork and The Ballantyne history followed by a tasting of flavorful culinary samples. Sign up at the Concierge Desk.

From Wednesday, September 14 through Saturday, September 17, 1 – 5 p.m., Champagne Tea with Jane Austen will be presented in Regency era elegance at The Ballantyne. Enjoy watching films of Jane Austen’s most beloved romantic fiction works while dining on authentic dishes. Period costumes are encouraged. Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Experience the magic of “Alice in Wonderland” at The Ballantyne’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party from Wednesday, October 5, through Saturday, October 8, 1 – 5 p.m. The event will feature whimsical teapots and mismatched, colorful tablecloths with a family-style set-up. Psychic Tea

Psychic Tea is Wednesday, November 9 through Saturday, November 12, 1 – 5 p.m. This Romani-themed specialty tea will feature a fortune teller and the option to add a “Your Fortune” Cocktail for $10. Holiday Afternoon Tea

Enjoy the traditional tastes, smells and sounds of the holiday season at Holiday Afternoon Tea 1 – 5 p.m. from Sunday, November 30 through Saturday, December 31 (not available on Christmas Day). Celebrate with a variety of seasonal teas and treats and live entertainment with the option to add Champagne for $10.
